My 323 just began to low idle, like below 500. I would say at about 300 or so and if i put the AC it would just die. The worst thing is my 530i is being delivered this week and I was going to put this one up for sale. I plan on cleaning out the MAF, but was also going to adjust the idle control screw. I just dont know where it is.

If anyone interested i will be selling my 1998 323is soon. It has 18" chrome wheel, sport suspension, new brakes and clutch. I will post more about it later.

Thanks
John

Dont think it has an idle screw mate as it is all controlled by the ECU and ICV

Is there any gunk in your throttle body or any cracks in your intake boot?

There is an adjustment on the throttle body you can move to increase the idle but that will most likely cause a throttle postion sensor (TPS) fault. I would look hard at cleaning the idle control valve. There is a write-up on how to do this without having to remove the the idle control valve but by using the throttle body cleaner and inserting the hose inside the hose going to the throttle body and idle control valve.
Do a search here and on the bimmerforum.com and see if you can locate it.
Be sure to use throttle body cleaner and not carb cleaner. Teflon safe throttle body cleaner is best...
