HELP NEEDED IN MIAMI

I just bought a 1994 BMW 740IL with 122k miles for less than $3,000.00
I am in Miami near The Falls

I want to turn the radio on but it shows "CODE" on the display...
It didnt come with a manual or anything to remove it so I can use the radio.
Does anyone know how to get this done ?

Please email me at: ZONDERVANUS@yahoo.com

Also would like to know if from the inside cabin can i press a button to lock all the doors with a power lock button?
I cant seem to find one....

It's pretty simple. on the front of the radio towards the sides there should be two black tab looking things. Pry these open with a small screwdriver or toothpick. Then you need a tiny allan/hex wrench to unscrew/loosen the radio. Then you can get the radio unit number. Then call any BMW dealer and ask them to look up the code.

Be prepared to bring it into the dealership. It's called a security code for a reason and without knowing Florida laws you may be required to show ID and proof of ownership.

Unfortunately the dealer told me that they cant unlock the radio because the metal plate behind the radio that contains the serial number is missing so the radio is useless... I guess i will have to buy an aftermarket one now.
