: A tree brushed my 528 !

To make a long story short, while crossing a parking lot a 25' tall Evergreen came down on my car....I was moving so no dents but the roof, trunk and passenger side was scratched...all surface scratches, nothing down to bare metal.
My question is will a compound, buff and wax take them out ? and does anyone know a good detail shop in NJ ?

Captngeetch: The scratches "should" buff out with compounding + glaze + finish wax. Without pictures, it's hard to judge the severity.

I'd recommend you post your request on www.autopia.org as there are a lot of pro detailers that are members and you can check their work/references.

I recently did a very bad scratch on a 740i hood. The shop owner thought it was too deep for repair and I wanted to give it a try.

Here's a pic after compounding. The scratch starts in the middle light reflection and curves down. It was about 6 inches long.

After shot and about 30 minutes work with a Festool (random orbit/rotary combo).

If you get a chance, take some pics and post them. Use a bright light to show the damage better.

Good luck with your search. You should get some excellent responses on Autopia.
