Used to be right into cars and do all the upgrades/modifications myself, but lately have been losing interest with all my automotive plans and projects.

Terry from Gold Coast, recently bought a E46 1999 318i auto 220,000 klms.
Great car to drive hugs the road like glue and still drives tight. Only problem so far, it bogs down when its cold but this fixes after few minutes driving, will iron out the problem eventually. Getting the Auto serviced tomorrow for peace of mind.

Sandy, from Florida, I drive an '07 335 'vert, but it's been in the shop for nearly 20 days... So now I'm driving a crappy loaner... '06 325i. :(

Jim from Wondai (3 hours North West of Brisbane). I'm 63 & retired. First BMW was an E28 M5351, now have an '89 E34 ALPINA...for 12 years, appears only about 5? in country.
STILL an absolute gem to drive and scarcely a problem over the years, stripped 2nd gear on the track once. Regular servicing seems the answer.
See "my garage".

Often, none unless you have some sort of official tax discount certificate...however...don't just give up! NO, NO, NO!
ALWAYS ask for the sales manager (he has the final say on price, new or used)
ALWAYS present yourself in clean clothes, a tie WILL help!!! Hire a good car or hide your 'trade-in' around the corner, don't let them see it first up...BUT tell them you have a trade-in (if you have one)
ALWAYS get 'the best price' a particular yard is willing to give, in writing
ALWAYS show that price to the next yard manager & ask him to 'beat it'
IF you have cash (either your own, or the banks) offer that & ask for a 'discount'.
Detail your 'trade-in' it's amazing how much 'extra' you will get
ALWAYS ask to have the car you finally want to buy, checked by the RAC (whether your a member or not)
ASK for warranties & do a "REVS" search on a 2nd hand car, regardless of the yard or quality of the car.
NEVER just take the car for a test drive 'around the block'. Two hours or more is better, BUT tell the yard what YOU want. You will need to leave house keys, your car keys, licence, passport etc as security. Often someone from the yard will STILL want to come with you. Let them!
Not too long ago I bought a 2yo car for work & it had NEW tyres on it. What I didn't notice was that they were different brands...ILLEGAL!!!
When I picked up the car it had barely leagal tyres on it....blackened of course to make them look good.
Boy OH boy, was there an arguement! Even though the RAC said they "Passed" the car. My only recourse was to threaten to report the yard manager to the MTAQ (governing body), for misrepresentation, or pull out of the sale & loose my deposit.
I GOT NEW TYRES!!!!
