...pics and descriptions in my garage. I would prefer someone just buy the whole thing and take it away; it would make an excellent project, there's huge potential here. But, there's oodles of good parts on it, I'll be happy to answer any questions. Thanx for looking!

pics and descriptions in my garage, click on the link up there. Does not run, for a very stupid reason which i will get into if you really want. Would take pulling the head to get it running again. $500 for the whole thing, including any and all parts for it I have lying around the garage...

Ok, here's the long version, with a bunch of details...

The engine needs to be rebuilt; the compression is low across all cylinders (~130-135) except #5, which was ~120, and it burned oil. When I got it, it would let a blue puff when pulling away from a red light and need a quart every 1000 miles. After some tinkering and change in oil (different brand, not changing to an ultra heavy weight), no blue smoke and goes 2500 miles before needing a quart. In spite of this, started every time, had plenty of torque, and I used it for pizza delivery, very reliable.
So one day, the idle starts to fluctuate. Over a couple weeks, it gets worse until it starts stalling. So one by one, I replace everything having to do with the idle, and nothing solves the issue. So just to be up on things, I check the compression again. When I get to cylinder #5 (the weak one), I get weirdo readings that are off the scale, not valid numbers. So I go to remove the compression tester and out comes the hose, but not the little adapter you have to screw on the end to fit this particular spark plug hole. No way to get it out (being cylinder #5, back behind the strut tower near the firewall). So I try to put a little threadlock on the comp tester, thread it back in to the adapter, and try to back it out that way. As you might guess, that doesn't work, and so the car sits, with the comp tester stuck in cyl #5, and the engine won't run at all, like this.
I guess the simplest thing to do would be to just get another engine from a salvage yard and drop it in, but I've got so many other things (automotive and otherwise) on my plate, and it's the middle of winter(I'd have to do the swap outdoors). I guess the wisest thing for me to do is just pass it on to someone else who can make it a priority...
As I mentioned, you are welcome to any and all parts and spares I have lying around, including a few extra rims, a complete(new) set of front and rear side marker lights for the bumpers, and a small pile of brand new rear brake parts I never got around to putting on...
If you have any more questions, I'll be glad to answer...
