Hi liss, I PM'd you back and now I see your sig, so I see the Jan. 27 meet you were talking about.
Damn, I'd love to go, but it depends on what time we get back from the SF Food Show.
I will be tasting food all day, I'm the "official" taster for Wente's Tasting rooms, so my Wife tells me what she is looking for (to carry/sell in the tasting rooms), then I go and taste.
I know it's a tough job, but somebody has to do it. :D

We'll have to wait and see, see ya later,

There's been a couple others on other sites, wondering if there is going to be a caravan from Sac-Town to join up with us and I told them I didn't know. :dunno:

The leader from all past Bimmerfest's isn't going this year, so I don't have a "new" leader to bring anyone down to hook up with us.
YES, it is bright and early, but that's the best part, get up and get down there around 2:00.

The last 3 years I've joined you guys and will continue to do so. It's just so much fun and a big group of cars. I spend the night in Fremont with grandparents and head over to Pleasanton at 5:30am.

SUNUVABICH! Man, I moved so I cancelled my internet about 2 weeks before the end of the month, then it took almost 2 weeks to get set up in the new place. And work provides limited access to forums. Got your evite though, which got the blood pumping again.

OK, so here's what I know.

Sac officially brings it now, in case you didn't know. So we're deffinitely down to roll.

We're gonna figure out times and dates and all that, but I can say for sure that i am going to push to meet up with you all from the start.

As for the cameras, as far as i know, everything has been ironed out with Jon, and we're good to go.
We have a bit of business to handle still with Jon, but as far as I'm concerned, we're on for the Official DVD of Bimmerfest 2007.

I hope all is well. i'll be in touch.

Yeah i guess you could say I lead the Sacramento Caravan. Thats how it's been in the past at least. I'll set a time and place to meet as soon I figure out what the exact plan is. Unlike Keith, planning 364 days ahead is a little beyond me.

Also, the Sacravan (tm), yeah you read that right, will most likely be meeting the Bay peeps at their start point unless I fail to convince my group of the idea. I'll let you know on that too as soon as I get my ish together.

Instead of taking 101 through the Salinas valley, and of course PCH will jammed with RV's. The alternative road is to take SH 25 south out of Gilroy, through Hollister and south to SH 198. This road parallels the 101, very little traffic on it. The last 10 miles of the road is on the San Andreas fault rift valley, great scenery. At SH 198, you can turn right for about 15 miles to get back to the 101. Their is another choice at this intersection, 30 yards to the left of the SH 25 & 198 junction, you wiill see a Y shaped intersection. This road is called Peach Tree Road, this is a great driving road (still driving down the San Andreas fault rift valley), it's a very narrow road with no centerline, with some gravel on top of the asphalt on parts of the road (don't follow closely unless you want rock chips on your car) . Trust me, take this road much slower than SH 25, I saw cattle walking along side the road outside the fence line. That could ruin your day going around a blind corner and Bessie is standing in the middle of the road. Going around a corner with gravel on top of asphalt can make the back end come around and your pucker factor will go way up (AMHIK). There are no guard rails on this road with lots of blind curves. BE CAREFUL, you are in the middle of nowhere on this road. Peach Tree road turns into Indian Valley Rd. Gas up before you leave Hollister. Their are no gas stations at all from Hollister until you meet back up with the 101 near Camp Roberts in SLO County (or in San Lucas at the SH 198 & 101 junction). Take a look at Google Maps and Images to check out this roads on this drive. I highly recommend it, SH 25 is a great driving road. Peach Tree & Indian Valley Rd is a very scenic road but drive it much slower.

Hey Keith, do we have a car count yet? I'm curious to see if we'll beat last years numbers as we have in the past.

Well G, when I see 244 replied yes to the Evite, it's talking people, not cars.

So, when I count the person who responded yes, I'm taking account for the car they are driving.

So that being said, right now there are 112 cars.

As you can tell for yourself, there are a couple that listed they are bringing other cars, one said 30 cars (a group from the Northwest)

There will be NO PROBLEM passing the 120 car count we had last year and it looks like it might get video taped from the air, I'm still waiting to hear on that one.

As usual I have 65 people that have viewed the Evite they received, but can't take the time to respond.
Most of the folks I know have a room, or rooms, booked already, so I don't know what holds them up from at least responding.

ANYWAY, it's going to be a blast!

This is kinda off topic, but I will never forget leading the 100+ BMW's for 10 or so miles. I remember looking back in my mirror marveling at the site I was witnessing. And sure enough, before I could take a breather the DTM group was joining in the fun up ahead.:)

VIDEO TAPED FROM THE AIR!!!!!!! WOW!!! We're moving up in the world, LOL!! This is why you are our BMW Godfather  Thank you for putting all of this together again. I know you enjoy it ,but, I also know that it takes up a lot of time and energy and is VERY STRESSFUL. And to top it off, you do it for US!! Know that it's appreciated. So, thanks again Home Chicken

Yeah G, I don't know about the "Video Taping" YET, but it would be nice to see that happen.

And thanks for the prop's G, it means a lot.

Send a PM to Keith and ask him to get you on the evite for the caravan. Fast food is the order of the day - there's a McDonalds at the Gilroy rendezvous point, and we stop for lunch at the In N Out in Atascadero.

Hey! I drive a 3 series! But yea who planned out this meet up?

The time is driven by a need to be in Pleasanton around 6AM to meet with the East Bay and Pacific Northwest groups and depart for Gilroy by 6:30AM. The BayBimmerz caravan is an early one, and we roll into Santa Barbara early enough for everyone to get checked in, detail their cars, relax a little and get cleaned up in time for whatever Friday night holds.

I'm sure folks might roll in by 4:15, but as long as there ready to go by 4:30, then it's all good.

Is there a route map posted somewhere with stop times and places to meet up?
Also what channels are we going to be on for the two-way radios? The route is pretty much straight down 101 from Gilroy, with a stop at the In-N-Out in Atascadero. The stop is based on time, but how long it takes us to get there. With you being in Lompoc, you'd only be able to get in on the very last part of the caravan unless you want to drive up to Gilroy or Pleasanton for the start. ;)

Keith announces the channel while everyone is gathered in Gilroy.

Yeah, Bimmerfest is off. Sorry. See you next year. :tsk:

Or, maybe it means I don't have to wash my car now, since they'll all be dirty!

Seriously, why would anything change? And anyway, there is no rain in the forecast. Gilroy 68 and sunny on Friday. SB is around 70 and sunny all weekend.

I heard there MIGHT be a few sprinkles in the north bay sometime this week. That's not really a rainout.

Holy crap. I'm not TOO worried during the caravan because there are too many cars to really go fast. But I better watch myself on the way down to Gilroy.

I've found most CHP use Ka, except now some are starting to use laser :thumbdwn:

Remember last year and the cop that slowly picked his way allll the way thru the caravan? Took him about 15 mins to make it to the head of it. We've gotta do our best not to block both lanes this year.

Have a safe drive... glad I've got my no-stupid-excuse-to-pull-me-over front plate tow hook mount ready to go, bimmerfest special!
