Since there is no dip stick on the 2007 X3.
How do you know you'd put enough of oil in the motor when you're doing the oil change yourself?

Any thought?

Sorry I can't answer you question. I just didn't know there was no dipstick on the 2007 X3. Out of curiosity, why not take it to the dealer? It's free!!

Cuz we believe that 15k for an oil change is stretching it a bit.

That is awkward, the fact that the N52 has no dipstick but the X3 doesnt have the advanced Check Control like the E90.

pg 99-100 in 2007 manual (pdf version) shows how to check oil level through the instrument cluster.

the button on your speedo/tach console that doesnt reset your trip odometer is ripe for the pushing...
