Well I dropped my car in for service (the Vanos unit being replaced, Inspection 1) and decided to stroll around the showroom before I left. Glad I did.

I don't suppose you know which of the like 5 cloths that last one is? Or at least what year the car is? It looks different than mine.

And the last time I was in Canada, every single E39 on the lot at Brian Jessel was a M-sport.

And of course we know Tourmaline Violet is a standard color in Canada.

Now, would you believe that every car I took a pic of, save for the M3, was standard? Almost the entire showroom, save for an E65, 2 Z4 3.0i's, and an X5 were stick. That's like a 3:1 ratio.

BTW, I now have a loaner, a 320i Step. I'm kinda pissed, I requested a stick shift specifically but they said it just wasn't available this morning. It's pretty quick though, barely feels any different than the 325i Step I had and maybe even a little more eager to rev. It has Moonroof, DSC, Heated Seats. No Xenon's, Auto Climate, multifunction wheel, SP, etc. Still a great car.

Any questions about the cars, ask away. I know you guys don't get a few of them.

Looks like you hit the goldmine. Thanks for the pics. Very interesting.

It was a light gray shade, in a 2000 323i I believe.

I actually meant type of cloth (Flock, Tex2000, Lifestyle, Jacquard, etc.) , not color, but the MY should be enough. Thanks.

Is the M3 Midnight Blue, or just Carbon Black?

I figured from the wording in your post, but I didn't have a clue that there were different cloth textures and patterns. :dunno:

Definately not CB, any pics of Midnight for me to compare? The pics came out dark.

Going by the crappy little pics on the Individual site, Night Blue over Ecru? :dunno:

I'd kill to have Arizona Sun over Arizona Sun Alcantara. :D

Definately Ecru and light birch on the inside, I know that from the pics Alex B used to post.

Arizona Sun... Just give me an Imola/Imola M3, I'm not picky. :D

Yeah, and can you believe that Z8 has been sitting there for at least 2-3 months? It seems like a big risk for a dealership to order such an expensive car without a client to back it up.

This one I can't tell from the pics really... but I'd like to see one in person...

Black Aluminum Cube is the more common version as seen in E46M3s. Lots of people compare it to fake CF. Who wants fake CF if you can get the real thing? :dunno:

Yeah... I remember seeing the black one and it looked totally fake. But then again... they never said it was CF so...

but seeing as that one is silver... I'm curious how that would look in person too... :)

I maintain that any silver trim looks like a$$ in a E46, and its offered, and popular in lots of today's cars (Subarus, Nissans, etc.) simply because silver is the Trendy color in cars today.

In 5 or 6 years when the Silver Trend is so over, people will look back and wonder WTF they were thinking. It'll be the Disco of car colors. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Tourmaline Violet on a 3er. Woohoo! That's what I'm getting on my 330i. All I had to do was ask the right questions. No extra charge either.

I would love to have that M-Sport body kit over the standard SP body kit. While the SP kit is nice (and much better than non-SP), it's just not as nice as the M-Sport. Hmmm, I wonder if I could have requested that as well... like I got the Canadian color.

Regular silver trim on E46 we get here looks bad, but I like aluminum cube, it doesn't look cheap and plasticky like the stuff in other cars. Is this the trim HP package is going to get?

It is the Stoff Flock Anthrazit (BMW Europe order code: E3AT).

It came standard with my previous 2001 E46 318Ci. ;)

Yup. I believe BMW phased this cloth out for 2002, its been replaced w/ a different, cleaner-looking pattern (but I forget what they call it now).

Heh, my little 323 has the gloss black trim you like. After carefully looking at the silver plastic stuff in the 320iA I have for the weekend, I actually like mine better. It looks a little odd, a little too light for the interior. I think the black looks more classy. Now, the new aluminum trim in the M3 is a different case...:bigpimp:

I didn't know that you could get M72 18" rims in Canada. I though the M sport package only came with M68's. Was that red 330i a special order?

P.S. Is that Autohaus on Steeles?

How did you manage to get that at no extra cost???

I think you are confusing Anthracite (dark grey/charcoal color) for Alcantara (suede like material) :dunno:

The package comes with M68's (the only way to get them in Canada), but like every other model the M72's are a $1200 option.

In case you guys didn't notice, it isn't Electric Red either, it's Imola. :bigpimp:

And yes, that is Autohaus on Steeles, west of Yonge.

I just was persistent, and asked the right questions. Since it's a Canadian color, we are able to get it here.
