Production of the 330i PP will begin in March 2003, priced at just under $40,000, with the first cars arriving at dealers in April.

330i Base Price $34,600
18" deadweight  $   900
Sport Package   $ 1,200
                -------
               &nbsp$36,700

Which would make the PP ( ) option cost how much? (my fiugres do not account for destination, dunno about C&D's)

edit- deleted my idiot mistake that kaz pointed out. I'm a dolt.

If it ends in '95' I think it includes destination since that's $695.

That makes the 'HP' package $2100. Frankly that's a bargain especially considering that many of us thought it would cost ~$4k+

Are you talking about 'PP' or 'HP'?

Sounds about right. And if the package specifies things like seating material, those are options that are essentially non-selectable. So add HIDs and one or two other knicknacks, and I think the price is more or less right.

Well, its been called the '330i HP' in the past, and 'PP' (or more properly 'ZPP') is Premium Package so we can't use that...

The figures I posted were MSRP for the regular 330i sedan with options made superfluous by the new package. What we have been calling "HP" Car and Driver called "PP" so I went with that.

So, if the 330i PP is $39,995 ("just under $40k" incl destination), that makes it $39,300 w/o.

  $39,300 330i PP (or HP)
- $36,700 330i with 18" and Sport
------------
   $2,600 for the "PP", right?
+ $2,100 for the options I listed before
------------
   $4,700 retail for "PP"

Right?

Huh? I thought the 37,995 was the listed price.

It's not a big deal, but to avoid confusion, we should use "HP" or "HPP". "PP" has consistenly been used on these boards to mean "Premium Package". Thankfully, this has nothing to do with the Premium Package.

BMW calls it the High Performance Package. Which is why I'm suggesting "HP" or "HPP".

Is it? The "just under $40k" form c&d was the first I've seen of a price...I haven't followed all that closely...maybe I missed something? :dunno:

:dunno: :dunno: :dunno: Look at your opening post. It starts with "$37,395" so I assumed that was the 'under $40k' figure the article reported.

330i with the 18" and sport package plus destination...copied and pasted and then forgot to delete. My fault.

And I thought it was coincidence that those figures were the same. :lmao:

OK, so if the 'under $40k' is the proverbial $39,995, then the package is surely a rip like many of us have thought. It really should be just south of $39k.
