Hey guys,

I just got a fresh quote from a dealer for an ED X3 with the following options:

MSRP Base: $38000
Invoice Base: $34960
ED Invoice Base: $32515

Option (MSRP/Invoice)
Highland Green Metallic (475/430)
Sand Beige w/Nevada Leather with Ash Dark Wood Trim
STEPTRONIC 6-Speed Automatic Transmission
Premium Package (2450/2230)
Heated Front Seats (500/455)
On-Board Navigation System (1800/1640)
Heated Steering Wheel (150/135)
Premium Sound System (675/615)
Xenon Adaptive Headlights (800/730)

I was quoted $40,849.00 + TTL. This sounded pretty good to me as it's ~$1k under invoice, but I calculated it's still $4k over ED invoice price (I used the invoice price sheet PDF in the sticky post).

MSRP w/ options: $45545.00
Invoice w/ options: $41890.00
ED Invoice w/options: $36683.85
My dealer quote w/options: $40849.00

Is there room to budge here? Will dealers haggle on ED prices?

Make sure the quote they gave you which includes MACO & training fee. That is around $600 total
Believe it or not, the dealer charges their customers fee on how to train their sales force and advetisement!!

I've got a 335I for 1200 over ED invoice and options at invoice price, I negotiated this even before the official launch of car with a high demand.

Apparently this deal of your ED is saving you only 1341.00 , but I saved almost 5K. Offer your dealer a max profit of 3% over ED invoice, aprox 1,000, THAT'S IT, this 1000 is pure revenue for them, no added expenses and the car comes out of their allocation, they have nothing to loose.

I live in South Florida and becasue the dealers here did not wanted to negotiate a penny, I ordered the car through a north california dealer. So if the dealers around you do not want to negotiate, go out of state. but first email what you want and what you offer to all the closer dealers to you, even 2-3 hour drive away. Worst can happen is they tell you good bye, but believe me some are open to this deals, and you get $$$ for the great ED experience .

I liked it so much that this year we will go for wife's X-3.

Good Luck.

PD.. dealer in Frisco Bay Area is Sonnen BMW, ask for Jim Archibald. Dont forget to tell me how you did with him

The only thing I see that's wrong is your ED invoice + options price is incorrect.

Yup that's the way I see it. Hold out for a better deal. Do a search for "rizzo"...

Sorry guys, Yes my ED price with options was incorrect. The correct value is $38750.00. This makes the dealer's quote roughly $2k over ED invoice. That's much better. Sounds like a much better deal now that my math is correct.

Still on the roof, 1k max, or the boot. Give Jim a call.
