have my tension straps gone???

Hi all,

i have a 96 328i convertible (semi auto top) when i release the handle and lift the top nothing happens, i have to goive ita further push to lift the back end up, then when hard cover (boot stawage bit) comes up the roof back drops down but i have to give it another push to go all the way back in?

Roof raises with no problem.

do i need new tension straps or can they be adjusted? also anyone have fitting instructions for the tension straps?

Hi mate

Sounds to me like your tension straps have stretched and so need to be replaced. My mum had this and had them replaced. Works a dream now.
