First you need ellipsoids so that you have the right housing to accept the HIDs and not blind oncoming drivers.
ZKW, Bosch, Depos, Inpro and a few others have been done.
I know that Umnitza, UUC and a few other vendors sell these as well as selling on the for sale section of this forum as well as bimmerforum.
The HID selection should be ones that have some track record for reliability.
Again do your homework but a few vendors out there have some good products that will work well for you.
You can have the angel eyes put in at the same time you are doing the HIDs or before if you wish. Typically I have seen them wired into the low beam circuit (yellow wire) so they are on with the low beams but I am sure many other wiring combinations are possible too.
Expect to get the Low Beam Failure when you turn the HIDs on. It is common and caused by the fact that the HIDs draw only 33 watts versus 55 watts per light when operating.
Mine never used to come on now they do so I will put a resistor in series and increase the draw to 55 watts per light so the computer will be happy. You can also disable the LBF notice on the OBD as well by doing a mode to the OBD computer.
Be aware of what Kelvin temp you are shooting for. I would not go over 6000K because you are loosing light if you go higher. Stock HID BMWs are 4300K by the way because that is the best compromise between available light and not getting too close into the blueish colors.
I have both 4300K and 6000K and there is really very little difference.
However compared to the stock lights the lux output is 3 times brighter.

Did you do this? I have the annoying Low Beam Failure warning light but until now didn't bother looking for a way to fix it.
