Has anyone had their door sill light go out?? Half of my drivers side sill light is out. Is it just a bulb or does the whole sill have to be replaced?

Both my "BMW" sections went out in early December. Left and rogh tof BMW still ok. While in for service early this month they ordered whole sills. Came in last week and yet to schedule the install.

As an interesting note, the orange pixels don't seem to last very long compared with what is used in Individual cars. BMW Individual cars, like mine, don't use them. My door sills are illuminated in white; they don't look like pixel "things" and haven't burnt out after one year so far.

Mine are still going strong. I suspect weak bulbs/LEDs whatever they are can happen.
I remember someone posting that their reverse lights burned out. BMW had to remove the rear bumper to replace the bulbs.

My driver-side illumination sill faded away (1 Month ago) and I had BMW change it. It is bright as ever! I should have asked the dealer to change the passenger-side since its illumination is dimmer compared to the drivers-side.
Oh well, I sit on the driver-side 100% of the time.:D

See attached on the door sill. All 6ers have it standard in the US.

I don't understand why it would fail so quickly. Mine failed at about two years after getting my car. But, it's not like I stomped on the door sill. I got the driver's side replaced, and now I'm getting the passenger side replaced.
In addition to that, I'm getting my rear view mirror replaced because the tinting on it has slowly gone away.
