Stolen 2002

Hey guys I got this in my email today.



Fellow chapter member, Mohammed Fares <mofares@yahoo.com>
is asking for our help.

My beloved BMW 2002 was stolen last Monday (12-30-02)
from Rockville, MD. The car is Silver (Polaris) with
16" Panasport Wheels, sunroof, extremely clean. It has
Maryland tags w/ BMWCCA (National Capital Chapter)
0161 on it, VIN 2745517. There's a BMWCCA and an
American flag decal on the rear window. Please pass on
the word and if anyone sees it or knows anything about
it, please call me at work at 800-624-0673 or my cell
at 301-502-0034.

IT WAS FOUND!

Many, many people have expressed sympathy and were on the
lookout for Mo's '02. The mailing went to to 3600 BMW
enthusiasts, mostly chapter members. From Prince Georges
County Police to the Justice Department, people were concerned.
It warms be to send the following message.

The 2002 has been found!!!

Mr. Bernard Marra, a local NCC member was travelling on the
Redline Metro train towards DC from Shady Grove Metro Station.
He usually sits on the Metro train facing forward direction but
this time he was looking back of the train and saw the 2002
parked on a street in Rockville near Redland Road. He thought
it was a cool car but had no idea it was stolen. This morning
he saw the e-mail picture of the car on his palm pilot and put
the two together and drove to Rockville and called me. I work in
Gaithersburg, so I met him and drove the car back to work and
notified the Police.

The stereo was stolen and the engine is running rough and has an
exhaust leak. Other than that, it looks fine but I have yet to
check the undercarriage. I want to thank you and all the BMW Club
members for their support and encouragement. Thanks again!

Glad to see he got his car back...that is/was one of the disadvantages of all the publicity the 2002s got last year..that and high prices
