Cigarette Lighter

The lighter in my 325es is pushed right in and I can't get it out. I've noticed a couple of pictures of other 325s and noticed the same thing. Any advice on how to get it out? I don't smoke but I'd like to be able to plug in my cell phone charger and power inverter.

EDIT: In foresight, you might want to disconnect the battery before trying that :P

I've got the same issue myself. Foresight is correct, I've torched one fuse already. Looks as though I might have to take out the console to get to it. Any suggestions out there from those that have also experienced this PITA?

I don't think you have to remove the console. There should be some screws at the rear of the lighter/ashtray. I think you unscrew those and it gets you where you need to go. I think.

You should be able to pull out the ashtray. It'll lift out. And then pop the whole thing free and just replace the whole assembly into the plastic piece. Then snap it back in. Of course I haven't had mine out to prove this..........
