Tips on cleaning exterior trim?

I had waxed my car awhile ago and notice the black trim going around the exterior of the car is sort of faded white a tad. Any tips on getting it black again? I used the silicon black magic stuff on it but that is only temporary. It goes back to faded within a wash. The car is only a couple months old so I know this isnt due to the natural weathering process.
