My folks picked up their X3 a few days ago. They ended up ordering the car to get color/interior/options they wanted. Car is jet black color with sand/black interior with light poplar trim, automatic transmission. Has premium option only but it is more than enough for them.

The tires are the Michelin MXM4 instead of the Pirelli STR. Maybe they will give slightly better ride since the Michelin's are grand touring tires rather than light truck tires. :dunno:

The seats are a little darker in person as the flash lightens the color a little. I couldn't really get any photos from the front since the room was a little too small. Anyways, here are a few pics. :)

Wow. This is the first I've heard of an X3 coming with Michelin MXM4 tires. This could be great news. Please let us know how they perform once you've been with the car for a while. Sweet ride bty.

I have the MXM on my 06 and they are a great tire! ride very well and are nearly silent on the freeway.

Hmmm. I think this will be my replacement tire on my 05 when the time comes.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Michelin&tireModel=Pilot+HX+MXM4 i don't think this Michelin tyres are the best for X3!!! Pirelli's STR are better.

I like very much the car, the comination of the colors, everything is nice about this car :)

I think the STR is a better all around tire especially for snow conditions. The Michelin gets fairly poor snow scores. I doubt this car will see much snow, so Michelin will probably work out fine. Seems many OEM tires gets terrible reviews at tirerack for some reason.

Nice color combination! My '06 X3 has the Michelin. It just had its first taste of winter and did fine. Its rare for Charlotte to get a real snow, we mostly get a bit of snow and freezing rain.

I have 2 X3's one with the Scorpions and one with the Michelins. A few observations: tire wear the Pirelli's look like they will out wear the Michelins by 15-20K Miles and snow traction of the Pirelli's seems superior. The real issue is why is BMW putting passinger car tires (MXX) on a SUV? Michelin makes some fine SUV tires, look at the ML's and Chevy's with Cross Terrain's as OEM tires. The only rationale for the X3 being the only SUV on the planet with these passinger car tires as OEM is cost :bs: . On a luxury SUV this seems anoying to the customer, at least this one.:slap:

My guess is a ride/noise decision? I've heard the Michelin are more quiet. How does the ride/noise/handling compsre?

Added some big shoes to my 04 X3, 22's ride nice and fun. It has got a system in it that will probably shatter the windows with 3 TV's and rear view cam.

Thinking about adding some performance, don't no what yet though.

Really fun to drive and for the kids.

Peace

Post pics of your 2 X3's.

They are just cars you can't take them with you when you go.

Had a chance to drive it around today. The ride is very compliant and the handling excellent. Keep in mind this is with standard suspension, 17 inch wheels, and Michelin tires though. Had the tires at 33psi all around (door placard calls for 32psi).

The ride is far from Jeremy Clarkson's review where he described the X3's ride as "a truly dreadful, jowl wobbling, bone shaking ride". :p I think his car had sport suspension with 18 inch wheels back in 2004. Not sure how the updated sport suspension rides, but the 2007 X3 standard suspension isn't even close to "bone shaking".

Jeremy Clarkson is a "brit" and everything wich is not made in the UK is trash... even a BMW, i don't like the british people with theit conservatorism at all.
I drove this car and the suspension is ok, is sporty but ok.

Arrhhhh give me a break don't try to knock Top Gear. Finally somebody who likes to express what they think and who don't try to suck up to the big car companies or the viewer. Jeremy and the other guy likes all kinds of cars just not the 2004 X3 which a lot of other people didn't either.

Jet Black always looks so good before the swirl marks start! Never again will I let my spouse pick the color! Well, maybe I will, if she doesn't pick black.
