Spotted this guy on the way to lunch and talked to the owner for
a few minutes. He said the F-body guys always have a funny look
on their faces when he drops 'em.
:)
The owner also reported that Classic BMW (Dallas) had a 5er
wagon that they'd put every available Dinan part on as a
showcase - I might have to see about getting a few shots
of that some weekend.
I only managed to snap one shot before my battery went dead.
I'm loving the wheels - they looked a lot beefier up close than
in this photo.

Hmm nice. If I owned it I would make two improvements though: first I would remove the contraption over the rear window. Next I would ditch the DINAN5 badge and replace it with a 523i badge. Now that would be snazzy! :D
I always wonder why people go out of their way to advertise what's under their hood. :dunno:

Hamman roof spoiler & front add-on, (he admitted that he can't
keep the front from getting scraped up) - I sort of shrug at them.
The Dinan badge was actually pretty nice (aesthetically) - the
back of the badge matches the bend of the sheet metal and
the typeface is classy looking. I doubt I'd put one on - it seems
like an invitation for vandalism.
Still - it was a very nice looking car. The 5er has really grown on
me quite a bit. If I were looking today, I might very well end up
in a 540.

It's funny, because I am turning just the opposite. I used to love the E39. Now whenever I see one I know that it's time for it to go. The front end just looks too long and thin--not much presence.

Wait until June. Then your dream will come true. We'll see one of the most present fronts ever :D
