Hey everyone, I posted a few days back about getting a new computer for my 97 328iS, and I picked up a DME from a 96 328 from a junkyard, and I am finally getting a check engine light and a com link to a OBD II scan tool. But the car still wont start. Its getting fuel pressure, but there is no spark. I'm not really sure how to tell if the crankshaft sensor is dead, but that is a possibility. But could it have something to do with the computer, like say, the need to get it reprogrammed by the dealer? Or maybe to have the internal chip swapped? Any help? :)

I know that the e39s computers mate and will not work if swapped. About the only test you can perform for the CPS is a resistance test.
