I have heard that many BMWs do have too much negative rear camber and wear out the insides of the rears. A good alignment should fix that.

That negative camber on the rear is one of the reasons BMW's handle so well. Unfortunately that neg camber and the toe-in also causes the inside edge of the tire to wear faster.

If your tires are wearing that badly have the allignment checked to make sure it's at spec. It could be that there's a little too much. Also check your tire pressure. Over-inflated tires will cause it to wear even faster as the tire will mostly be riding on the inside edge.

Recommended pressures for an X3 with a load of 1-4 ppl. is 32 front and 35 back for both 17 and 18" wheels.

Many tires are over inflated on delivery to the maximum pressure. That's the way they ship the cars so the tires don't flat-spot while being transported. Many dealers don't bother to check the tires before delivery. Mine were inflated to 41 psi and talk about a rough ride!

Anybody have the alignment specs for the X3? Preferably an 06 non-sport.
