So which tranny does it have? The ad does rather contradict itself.

Throwing stars (M system II) are the most attractive BMW wheel ever.

For a guy that posts a classified ad on bimmer.org and knows about http://www.kindel.com/bmw/m540_info.htm he can't even mount all the throwing stars in the right direction?

And, take a look at the chrome window trim- That's a 540iA methinks.

He calls it a 540iA Sport. The url referring to the M540 is just another site with information on the model, not the specific car.

This is essentially an M5 with a V-8. One owner, always garaged. Originally purchased in Missouri. Excellent condition. Serious inquiries only please. For more info on this car, please visit http://www.kindel.com/bmw/m540_info.htm "

He says it is "one of 200 built." That's got to mean an M540 as there were plenty more 540iA's built in 1995. And he says, for more info on THIS car, refer to this (Specific M540- m540_info.htm) page. That strong an inference paired with his 200 built assertion is calling it an M540. Maybe not THAT 540 on that page, but he's saying it is an M540 and not a regular 540iA as I guessed in my earlier post.
