people always talk about getting lighter rims, but rarely talk about getting lighter tires...
does anybody know the tire weight of a 235/40/18 yokohama es100? how about the 255/35/18?

btw- (according to website info)
s03 235/40/18 is 26 lbs.
toyo t1-s 235/40/18 is 22.9 lbs

thanks in advance...

I didn't weigh the tires before I had em mounted.

But 235/40/18 ES100s weigh ~2lb more than PZero Rossos of the same size.

I posted about my latest tire/wheel weigh-in a week or two ago.

Apparently the Kumho Ecsta MX is MUCH lighter than S-03s. Between that, the grip they apparently have, and the price, those may very well be my next set of tires.

After the experiences a couple friends of mine had with Kumhos (they weren't round, a prerequisite for tires, really), I'd never buy em.

kaz,
How do you like the es100's so far? I've read your reviews from august and november, and was curious to see how you felt about them a couple of months later...

I'm considering the es100's, along with the toyo t1-s to replace the nitto 555's I currently have. No complaints about the 555's, but just feel like trying something new...

and I'm not really considering the so3's, due to the fact that they are a slightly heavier tire, and my rims are already heavy enough as it is (18" hm2's)

My problem is I still have the PZeros up front so its really hard to make a good observation about the tire overall. It'll be another month or two till I need new fronts.

My previous impressions still stand, however.

I replied on fanatics but I thought I share the data here as well. Yoko ES100 in 225/40-18 weighs just under 23 lb.
