View Full Version : 08 535xi Sedan ED prices out. BMW Fin lease terms crap

Got $2,000 under the munich base delivery price of $47,990. Thought it was a good deal, but after I signed the paperwork, I was told that the money factor on the lease is .00319 for a 12k/yr 60% residual lease. This is quite high, given the current lease program for the 07's is .0020.
Does anyone know if the dealers have flexibility on this money factor. While they seemed to be discounting the car, the money factor makes the monthly payment for the 08 5's seem like 07 payments on the 7 series. Not sure why they doing this. Was told there could be better lease deal before I pick the car up in June. Anyone out there know when these lease programs come down to earth?

Yes, dealers can play with the MF...check the Ask A Dealer forum for the base MF. Dealers can add as much as 0.004 to the MF as their profit and mark-up. Residuals are set by BMWFS and are the same for everyone.

I was thinking of getting the 535xi 2008 model.
Dealer MSRP $55,820 (Base w premium pack/cold weather/sat radio)
Would only drop $1,100 off and added a little for trade in, but not much.
Any better deals?

I had my heart set on a 535xi. But I could be very happy with a 535i. Presumably, the lease rates for the 535i will not be as high, correct???

Does anyone really know what the lease rates are going to be? I know folks have been quoted the "standard rate" (MF .0032), but I wonder if that is just the default quote when BMWFS has not released the rates yet.
I fully expect the rates to be worse than the 07s, but I would really be surprised if there is no support whatsoever. They can't keep up with the demand for 335s (which is a new model, not just a refresh), and its lease programs are good: coupe is .0017 with a so-so residual, sedan is .0016 with a good residual.
Of course the 335xi does have standard rates...
I guess we will just have to wait and see. Can't imagine why BMW hasn't released them yet -- people will be taking delivery here very soon!

The 08 535 is .0025 for 15K, 36 month with a 60***37; residual. That's all I know so far.

That is the correct rate--as I signed a lease yesterday with that rate and residual.

What would the rate be for 12k miles per year?
