hi there,ive got a 1997 316 coupe and its hesitating badly in first gear,when taking off the car hesitates badly and i have to change into 2nd to stop it from doing it.it happens only in 1st gear,all the others are fine,any suggestions anybody?

Hi Charlie28,

Need to know more about the symptoms like what is the idle speed? because it sounds like a fuel problem it only happens in 1st cos the is little or no fuel let me know if this helps

hi ian,the car is idling fine,ive sorta been guessin it might have somthing to do with fuel,i havent had a good tinker with the car yet as it hasnt gave me any jip till now so i realy dont now much of the engine lay out,is it possible that the butterfly housing may need cleaned out,cud a sticky flap cause this in first gear?thanks for replyin

got it sorted,found a tear in the rubber intake pipe that goes to the throttle housing.
