Your description sounds like a part that came with my E46 Touring.

Great buy for $100. This is an E39. Can be used per this example or directly behind the front seats with the cargo area fully open.
Here it is retracted.

You can and I believe I said that in my first post, but maybe not clearly.

Did you change the wording or is my reading comprehension that bad tonight?

My last edit was 8:39. Your question 8:55. But who's counting? Just so your point is made. I'd also note that the net and cover can be used independent of each other. It's a great piece of hardware.

What I asked was answered in the part that I quoted. I wish i could say that I've been drinking. :eeps:
The part on a A4 Avant drops down with the rear seatbacks. OK, it doesn't act like the strut tower bar it does on our cars but it sure is way more convenient than removing it, turning it 180deg. and reinserting it through the left rear door.

Ah, yes...the turning part. The first time I needed to do that, I forgot about the turning part. There's 120 seconds of my life that I'll never get back. :banghead:
