If one was to consider the 330i sport suspension ride almost a bit too rough for long drives with the family (but still loves it for sporty driving), would the 530i sport suspension be any different? How so? Other than runflat tire complaints by some, and regrets of getting the 5 series sport suspension? I am trying to find a car that is a swiss army knife of cars -- good for sporty drives on twisty roads, comfortable for cross-country drives, big enough for the family at times, and tolerable by the wife when she borrows...

I have driven and owned 3 series sport and non-sport, but have only been able to drive 5 series non-sport. And since moving from overseas back to the US, may have to buy without test driving...

 I have owned both a 2006 bmw 325 sport and now a 2007 530 sport. There is definetly a difference. The 530 is much smoother & quieter. When you go over bumps and pot holes, the 530 doesn't dart to one side or the other. It just glides right over them. To me the 530 sport, is the perfect blend of comfort and sport. You will not be dissapointed with the 530 sport.

I agree. I still have my 04 330i and the 530i handles bumps in a more compliant manner. Of course, my 330 had the Performance Pkg so it was even stiffer than the Sport pkg.

I have a 2007 530i Sport. I can't speak for the 330i, but my previous car was a 2005 328xi. Th 530i Sport ride is much smoother and handles curves like a dream... It extremely quiet too.

The sport suspension on the 5er is more compliant than on the 3er. A function of the longer wheelbase for the most part and also probably toned down a bit for the targeted demographic of the 5er.
Edit: Hey rock, didja get the iPod hookup on your car yet?
