Hi All,

I have a 330i with Bluetooth, and my Cingular 8125 works great with it. However, my fiance and I are heading to SC to pick up her new X3, and we would like to know from Cingular users, what Cingular phones work best with the X3 Bluetooth system. We want to get her a new phone, and unfortunately most of the information I am finding is old, and contains older phones. I am interested in the newest phones that are still available from Cingular.

Thanks in advances for any responses...

My Samsung D807 works get with the OEM Bluetooth system. I haven't run into any issues with dropped connections or anything and the entire phonebook displayed on the HU.

i've used a motorola slvr l7 and blackberry 8700c (both cingular-branded) and they worked perfectly with my X3. i now use an unbranded treo 680 (cingular sells their own branded version of this phone) and it works well with my X3 also.

I have a Samsung Blackjack that works fine with the X3. The contact list does not display, but neither did my last smartphone's list (Motorola MPX220). I mainly use the prerecorded name dial feature anyway.

Also with the Blackjack, it is a little irritating that you have to go in and manually switch between a bluetooth headset and the X3 system if you have both. You can automate the process by using MacroRecorder, but other phones will do this automatically.

I have a Cingular Treo 650 and it works well with my 2007 X3 and 07 530i. It will only load my speed dial names though, not the entire contact list.

I would wait for the Apple iPhone if I were you.

Hey there,
I just tackled this problem. I pair a Nokia 6133 phone with my X3's Bluetooth - it's quick to respond, with great battery life and very few glitches. I've got Cingular service but this is actually a T Mobile phone with SIM card. I used to use my Razr, but the battery life was not as good - plus I like this phone better for a number of reasons. My understanding, by the way, is that to set up the pairing with the car's Bluetooth, you have to do so in the first two minutes of turning the car on. Helpful to know when you're testing phones. Have fun! Kristen

In my 2007 X3, my wife's 3125 works completely (including phone book) but as others have reported, the Blackjack (which I use) just works fairly basically (no phonebook).

I'm using the Razr V3i, and the phone is constantly connecting and disconnecting. Once I've established a connection after about a minute or so it works fine, but for the first 30 sec to a minute of a call it could disconnect and try to reconnect a couple times. Anybody else experience a problem like this?

My Cingular 8125 works great with my X3. Transfers the phonebook and all.
