I just replaced my factory 16" rims with OEM 18" rims, with low profile tires. I've had the car balanced three times, but the ride is still terrible.

When going to bigger rims, does the car need to be aligned as well as balanced?

Also, does anyone have the alignment numbers for the 2004 E60 525i. I have a printout for what the current config on my car is, but the numbers were compared to an E39 model.

Thanks for any help folks.

Terrible as in vibrations or terrible as in harsh?

Going from 16's to 18's, you'll definitely feel bumps and road imperfections much more.

Assuming the wheels are true, there should not be any vibrations.

Terrible as in vibrations. I know that the right will be a little harder because of the low pros and bigger rims.

Its the struts. Makes perfect sense you have a tall sidewall with the 225/50's and then you go to the low profile sport rims. I also did the change but too the 17's and I noticed how much better the handling was but I can feel the clunkyness of the non sport struts.
