I am getting ready to turn in my 2004 325xi which is coming off lease. Admittedly I didn't do my homework with that lease, but thanks to all the posts on this site, I am going to make sure I get a great deal this time around! But before I go to my dealer to negotiate, I want to make sure that my calculations are correct so I know what the heck I'm talking about. I am debating between a few different models, but want to check I am using the right formula. For a 2007 530i, I am using the following:

MSRP $60,670
Dest. Chg $695
Residual at 73%, which equals $44,796
MF Rate of .00150
Invoice price (cap cost) $56,920
24 mth, 10k miles/yr

Thus, cap cost + residual / 24 = $505.15
Cap cost - residual * .0015 = $152.57
Mthly Lease Pymt $657.72

Now, if I were to make the maxium 7 MSD's, my MF rate would be lowered to .00101 which lowers the mthly lease payment to $607.88.

I would pay for the sales tax at signing so that it doesn't get rolled into my monthly payments

Can anyone let me know if my calcs are correct? Besides taking out options to lower the invoice price, is there any other way to get this payment lower?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!
Jenny

You can try the lease calculator on the following website http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm.

I plugged your numbers into it and got different rates: $708/month at MF .0015 and $658/month at MF .00101. That is assuming you pay the taxes up front and your lease is 24mos.
