I have been trying to wash my 335 sedan every two weeks coz the Monaco Blue picks up every speck of dust. My problem is I can't seem to get rid of water spots. Here are the things I tried. I am really looking for corrections to what I did and suggestions on what I can do better. Maybe I am using the right tools but jost not using them properly. Please help!

1. Deluxe Water filtration system
I bought this from detailcity.com. The problem is it actually increased my water spots! Now I don't know if I am using it correctly - meaning it came with a set of rejunevating salt tablets but when I first installed the soft water filter I did not add them. Should I have? I thought since they are "rejunevating" I didn't need them the first time (this is the system: http://www.detailcity.com/deluxe-water-filtration-system.html)

2. Microfiber waffle weave
I got the cobra waffle weave towel and another brand as well (big blue) but I am not sure how to use them. Should I just blot with them (didn't seem to help much) or can I actually wipe down with them? I am afraid wiping might cause small scratches so I haven't actually done that.

3. Leaf blower
I got a cordless leaf blower but it only sprays the water around and they still leave spots.

Now I have both white spots right after washing and dark colored spots that seem to have been around for weeks now. How can I remove them? I plan to Zaino the car soon with a PC so I am hoping that will take them out. Is there something else I can/should do?

Please help, this is driving me nuts!

I only have experience with #2, so I'll address that. Wash the car in the shade. For the final rinse, remove the hose nozzle and "flood" the car with water. This should reduce the amount of water on the car. Next dry the car with microfiber waffle weave. If you've never used the towels for anything else you should be able to safely dry your car with them by wiping. Blotting will leave spots. I used one very large blue microfiber cut in two to dry my entire car. If the towel touches the ground its immediately discarded. I use a different towel (white cotton terry) to dry inside the doors, engine bay and trunk. I drive my car around the block, pull it into the garage and catch any new drips with microfiber. Using this method I've never had any problems with water spots (and we have very hard water where I live).

If you search you should be able to find some threads that address how to remove water spots... IIRC I used 50/50 solution of white vinegar and distilled water to get rid of some I picked up from a rainstorm on my old car.

I like the California Water Blade, it does a great job of removing most of the water, just go back and towel up the rest.
