Ok, this is going to sound retarded, but I ordered some X-drilled front and rear rotors for my 98 m3 conv. The two front are the same, but the rear looks different. I'm pretty sure that the two rear are supposed to be the same, or am I completely and utterly wrong?

Ok..I'd love to help, but I need to ask you something first.

When you say the rear rotors are "different", do you mean different from the fronts or different from eachother?

The rear rotors are smaller in diameter and have a bigger hat on them to accommodate the parking brake shoes.

The rear rotors are different from each other. Can you see the picture, or did I upload it incorrectly? The picture of the two rotors are both the rear rotors.

Gotcha....

Ok, that's just weird.

They should look the same. I would contact the seller and try and find out what's what. Also you should see if there are any kind of part # markings on them. That might shed some light on things, too.

Good luck

Thanks for the response. The part numbers are 34087 and 34088, and they both say they are 18.4mm? I think definitely something is wrong though, probably a manufacturers error.

Well, the part numbers sound like they might be right - the rotors will be vented in opposite directions - but that doesn't explain why the edge of the hats look different. It almost looks as if one has more surface area.

Last time I did my rear rotors, they looked exactly the same, save for the venting...

again, good luck
