driving a e90 loaner today, i noticed that it hits the brakes when i click back on the cruise control stick.

my double-the-price 550 doesnt do that. is it because im a 6mt? the 550 is an 07

The E90 has Dynamic cruise control standard (Active cruise is opt. and rare), which will hit the brakes if you exceed the set speed or decel. Back in 2004, this wasn't invented yet so it likely isnt on yours. However, '08 5-series should have this.

The 2008 5-series have this feature added. As I live in the flat Midwest, I've never needed the feature however....

What I have wondered is, as you click down 5 or 10 mph, and it hits the brakes, do the brake lights go on??
