Ive got the m44b19 engine. 140hp and 180nm of torque i think:dunno: .
Anyways i was looking at the specs and this is what is stated in the handbook

0-50km in 3.1's
0-80km in 6.8's
0-100km in 10.2

WTF! 20km in 4 seconds! I can run faster!
Do bmw engineer's go easy on these cars? I swear that my lil 4 banger is quicker that 10's easy!:dunno:

ams magazine measured: 0-80 km/h in 6.3 s and 0-100 km/h in 9.3 s; mot magazine: 0-40 km/h in 2.6 s, 0-60 in 4.4 s, 0-80 in 6.6 s and 0-100 in 9.9 s. This is with the 3.38:1 final ratio that BMW used on European BMWs so as to not edge out the 320i.

Dude you must be reminded,it's only 4 cylinders and not much in the cc department neither.

There's no substitute for good old cubic Inches,as the saying goes .

Want to go faster,get a 6 or higher,im speaking form experience here,having owned a 4 cylinder bmw before then going to a 6,there worlds apart .

DominguesE30 the Germans do hold back all of their cars to meet some sort of emissions standard i do believe. Yeh i know it sucks.

But save up some money and get the Downing Atlanta supercharger. Its a wee bit pricey. But it is approved by BMW and it requires no fabrication. It just bolts right on and presto you get 220hp. No joke. And up to this stage you don't lose much gas mileage and you lose NO reliability of your engine.

And if you feeling adventurous(though if you go here you need to get a bit more technical so you don't lose too much reliability) later on you can upgrade it by getting bigger pulleys and get additional cooling via water injection or such like and get yourself a nifty 250 hp or so.

because im 17 and in 5 months i get my probation licence. On the first of june the victorian governemt is setting new laws in on performance cars and mods. No v8's, not turbos/superchargers no high performance sixes and no modification to the car that will increase performance.

I was looking into intakes for my old 528i, and Some people had gotten over 240 hp at the crank, 200-210 at the wheels with M50 intake, S52 cams, and a 7 k redline. Definately go for the intake!! I dont think that it is really that hard of a job.

Also, my shiny new metal impeller water pump arrived today, as well as $370 worth of assorted hoses, belts, tanks and t-stats. Too bad I leave for a week tomorrow morning.
