Tune Up??

My car just hit 185k and I bought it at 170k. Seeing as how the clutch was just dust at about 171k, I'm gonna guess that it hasn't seen a tuneup in a long, long, long time.

Is it worth it to spend the money to get the tuneup? Should I go to BMW or should I take it to my import specialist? How much is a decent fee?

And just a side question.. I do have an M50TU, right?

Your 95 should be vanos. If you look at the bulge in the silver part of the valve cover it will let you know. The M50 is flat across that part.

Buy a bentley manual and do the tuneup yourself. Cheaper and you will learn about your car. Might leave some of the hard stuff for an indy. Find someone you can trust(ask around).

I'd do:
air filter and fuel filter at a minimum. check the color of the antifreeze.

No hesitation or rough idle? Don't mess with it...
