This is the first time that I will do the oil change on my car. I have had a few BMWs, but, I never have done a oil change or any maintenance.
The reason why, well< i have neglected the car for 6 months. All the while I left the car up to my wife to take car of. Tonight I asked her when the last time the oil was changed and she said 10k mikes ago:mad: , oh and here is the list that the BMW tech said needed to be done.

The car needs a oil change and I guess why it wasnt done 10k miles ago is that the invoice says, the oil filter housing oring to the block needs replaced.

Can anyone tell me how to do this and where I can look to get the details on changing the oil in my Bimmer. thanks

pelicanparts.com has them, or alleurasianauto.com.

Thanks, i read the quote a little more carefully and it said that he oring Housing needs replaced and they also recommend that the vanos line be replaced at the same time. Why would the vanos line need to be replaced and how hard is that to do?

The oil filter O-Ring should come in the package w/ the oil filter, along w/ a new washer for the oil drain plug. At least, they came with the Mann filters that I've bought in the past.
