Today we went off to my trusted bmw mechanic, the guy who services my e36 and my dads e46. We also bought 3 bmw's from him within the family. Mine, my dads and my uncles silver e46 325i. (what ever my dad gets, my uncle gets and vice versus! They are like the best of brother-in-laws and like brothers)
Anyways i described to him the angel eyes kits i bought from ebay. He had heard of them but never installed them so he insisted that he called his automotive electrician freind who works on all the electrical issues with the bmw's my mechanic cant fix. Bad news on the other end. The auto elec rekons he has installed the exact kit once, and will never do it again and warned us not to proceed. He reckons that the headlight is the biggest pain in the ass to pull apart with the glue that is used to hold them in place. Then he rekons that once the headlight is back together that there is a small chance that moisture and water may seep into the healight unit and cause serious damage. Then after doing that the obc didnt accept the angel eyes and warning poped up left right and center. No angel eyes for mikie. Now i have to figure a way to sell them. No i will not sell them to any of you guys  . Looks like ebay.
The moral of this story. Stay away from them. Unless u want a e36 to look cool, have moisture in the headlights and obc defects and warnings always going on and off!

I bet you were buddy
Not worth trashing your baby for them though. Save up and buy a proper pair. Try to sweet talk a sponsor into giving you a MASSIVE discount :)

I think those are junk. You find better ones for about the same price where it is doesnt include the turn signal section. I dont like the one piece units.

When I got my car, the headlights were FULL of moisture, I mean you couldn't see the lenses. I brought them inside, put them in the oven on the lowest setting with the door open, then applied silicone sealant around all the areas where moisture could get in, including the rubber seals between the plastic bits you take off to get access to the lights. No trouble ever since, so I figure I sealed the leak. Taking the glass completely off though, that would have been much more difficult to glue and seal effectively.
So yeh, save up for the full units, or don't bother and save your money.

Hey Mike I have those exact same lights installed on my car. Aside mine have the chrome housing. I really love them and all my friends wish they could get them for their car. Only complaint is that they only show up at night.. Super easy to install.. Just cut n splice a few wires..

I think those look like ass. You shouldn't have any problem with DEPO or ZKW headlights, don't be cheap, get the good stuff. I bought half-decent ones, I have DEPO with lame angel eyes right now, I wish I got ellipsoids though, they look the best. Wait till you got the dough to get the right thing.

I remember someone posting a DIY angel eyes thing, and in that they talk about taking apart the housing, and salvaging the glue for later use. From what I read, it didn't sound too hard as long as you were careful. Maybe take a look at that post before you sell 'em? Good luck with whatever ya decide though bud
