Some of you might have seen my post last month on .org about having ordered two new '02 330i's with different color combos.

Here's the scoop - I have an '00 328Ci Topaz/Grey PP HK Xe and while this is a nice car, I've come to appreciate the need for having back doors on a car (multiple offspring & business situations).

In early December, I ordered an '02 330i SP PP CWP Xe in Orient/NatBrown. Production date was about 4 weeks away. A week later I saw a Steel Grey/Grey 330i SP and thought it looked really nice with the Grey/Grey combo.

Exactly 1 week after seeing the SG/G combo, I returned to my salesman and asked him to change the color combo. Before I could tell him why I was there, he tells me "Great news!" - the production date has been moved up 3 weeks to NEXT week. Unfortunately for some reason I was even more determined to get the SG/G after that. I got no hassle from the salesman since he sold me the 328 and this is a great shop for customer satisfaction.

I reordered and the SG/G is being built this week. The wrinkle is this, I get a call yesterday that the OB/NatB has just been delivered and is available. Now the second (third) thoughts are creeping into my tormented soul - which one?

I plan to keep this one for a while (probably 6+ years) so I want to be sure.

AAaaaaarrrgggg. Why can't they just all come in Black?

Both a great colors :thumb: . I would go down to the dealer and just check it out. While I do prefer Steel Gray over Orient Blue (no offense OB owners) I would be torn between the two if I was placing an order today. My wife really like the OB, but I do not like gray or sand interior and black and OB looks like a big bruise. I'm curious how OB would look with Natural Brown.

I'm heading there this afternoon - I'll get some pics and post this evening.

It's funny, I'm always teasing my wife that when given choices, she can't make a decision without agonizing over it for hours. I'm more the "bam - decision made" type but not in this situation. :p

Definately check it out in person..

With OB, you're goint to have a lot more maintenance required to keep the car 'clean' looking. SG just looks dull when dirty. OB (like Jet Black) looks .. well .. dirty, when dirty..

Personnally, I'm not a fan of the natural brown interior .. although 'Nat Brown's' Birch trim looks great with the Natural Brown leather.. but my opinion shouldn't matter to you .. get the one that you like. Check out my site for some pics of my Steel Grey / Grey .. and compare that with the Orient / NatBr that you're going to look at later today..

good luck...

If Tanin Red was still available I'd order it with Steel Gray.
325i/330i.

i like the blue exterior/sand or natural brown interior combination. wood trim looks especially good with a sand or brown interior. my favorite color currently is topaz blue. orient blue is too dark for me. you mention you liked jet black, so i would say orient blue is closer to that than steel grey.
