I will be picking up a 335i coupe with the sport pack 18" wheels (style 189). I want to replace the OEM runflats with a set of Bridgestone RE050A Pole Positions.

They do make the fronts in OEM size 225/40/18 but they don't make the rears in OEM size 255/35/18.

The available rear sizes are 265/35/18 and 285/35/18. Will the 265's fit on the 18" rims? How about the 285's?

If I go wider in rear, does it make sense to go wider in the front also? front-245/40/18?

The rear wheels are only 8.5" wide. The 265/35R18 tires list a minimum rim width of 9"...

You'll need to consider alternatives like the Goodyear GSD3 or Michelin PS2

I also have this issue. I'm looking at buying the General Exclaim UHP for my E92 w/sport. They have the correct size for up front, but the closest on the rear is 245/40/18 (stock is 255/35/18).

Gary, will this size be okay for the rear wheels? I checked the measured rim width and it was 8.5".

Thanks!

245/40R18 is taller than recommended. It will mount on the wheel, though.
