Hey wat's up guys .
Ok I found this plug today behind my glove compartment,I did some research and found is part of the ICU,but the ICU is missing couldn't find it.
My question is what kind of problems can I have without the ICU ?
thanks for your help.

I just bought a new Idle Control Valve, and it came with an Idle Control Unit. The package was expensive, and upon testing both units, they work fine.

All I needed was the ICV, so my ICU is for sale.

It is the green color, which is the most recent unit (black is the outdated model), and is for a 1985 BMW 318i. So it is perfect for your vehicle.

As for problems without an ICU, your idle will be too high, and you will not pass smog tests. Other then that, it will effect engine performance, but fortunately it probably won't destroy any engine parts.

You can email me directly at AnthonHuntre@Hotmail.com

I also have pictures of the ICU.

Thanks

Just to add more information:

The ICV and ICU were purchased together for $480.

If you buy the ICU from another source, here are the price ranges:
The following three are for new units.

BMW Dealership: $450
Parts Specialist (Online): $350
Parts Wholesaler: $250

Certified Junkyard Specialist: $150 (Used)
Standard Junkyard: N/A (Price Ranges - Units Could Be Defective - Always Test)

My ICV and ICU came from a parts wholesaler.

Both of my ICU's work fine, as the signaling has been tested for both units. I'll probably keep the new one, and sell the older one. Price for the used ICU is $80 (reduced from $100). If you want the new one, it will be $240.

Thanks
