What is the curb weight of the 535i with Step (kerb weight if you have right-hand drive)? Could not find on BMWUSA website. Tks.

3703 lbs. BTW, if you go to www.bmwusa.com - the home page has info on the 2008 5er (including the weights).

Muito obrigado. Looked but did not find.

This says that the 535i is lighter than the E93 and that's great news. Love our 550i, but 535i would seem to offer same quickness at less cost, so will definitely look at it when lease is over. Any 0-60 times on 535i? Whose? Tks.

That's strange. When I go to BMW's home page, half the time the 335i Convertable shows up, and the other half of the time the new 2008 535i shows up.

:dunno:

Same-same E93 335i convertible, which is quickest car I've owned (including '90 Vette). Again, good stats. Tks.

Car and Driver has the 550 at 5.2 seconds w/step.

My source came from BMW's 2008 5-series brochure.

BMW is well known to underestimate both HP and 0-60 numbers:thumbup:

IMHO BMW has understated the 0-60 numbers for the 535--after driving it for 1300 miles it feels even quicker than stated. No evidence on my, part just a gut feeling from a guy has driven some fast cars in his life. It makes sense for BMW to understate to keep from cannibilizing 550 sales. Although after reading the posts on this board I think most folks who want a 550 don't really care about the stats--they want a V8 for the normally aspirated power and sound...

I am interested in what Car and Driver or Road and Truck test the 535 at...

That's what I figured. Yeah, I guess we'll have to wait for a road test of the 535. I think it's going to be impressive.
