Am I reading that right? Almost $22,000 for a 1994 with almost 125,000 miles? Is this about right for this model/year/mileage?
I understand that the car has some major modifications/improvements, but that seems a bit steep to me for the age and mileage of the car.
I'm just curious.

my 1997 e36 318is is worth around the 20-25k AUD mark. (thanks racv insurance!)
BTW mine has done 160,000km and it was 100***37; original with all log books and service stamps. Not one missing. Lady driver 2

Jim, down here down under, BMW commands a premium, even at that age. Mind you, I do think that that price is a bit over the top seeing as you could pick up a stock to good 325i/328i for around that price. Most of the premium would have to go to the interior, and the work elsewhere on the car. My 323i ( with style 67 M3 Rims) set me back 18k, but it wasn't in the world's best condition. I would think that Dom's price of 20-25k has got more to do with local geography/market in Victoria, rather than a national reflection of price.
An ordinary E30 still asks around 7k (National average), the same as a locally manufactured car from about 5-10 years ago. E46's start at 27k and go up, if you want anything newer be prepared to pay out 55-60k+ easy, and that's not even considering a new 335i...

mmmmmmm 335i
my dad's 330i was purchased for over 50k in 2003-4. around 30-40 gz now

He knows some gaudy tool will pay that much for it. Why not? I don't agree with it, but if someone will give you the money for it...

Apparently I got incredibly lucky with my car. I bought mine for a little under $4k from a used car lot in January. I took it to two different garages before I bought it (a total of four times), and knew exactly how much I'd have to put into it to get it in great shape. It didn't need much, as the car was garage kept (that's obvious when you see it up close). Maybe I got a good deal because it's a four door automatic. It needs a few improvements, but nothing major right now.
I have a lot planned for it: new rims, bigger tires, the European lights and upgrade the exhaust to name a few. But we all know that these cars are a labor of love ... our relationship with them lasts a long, long time.
I plan on getting my car as pristine as possible, and then in ten years giving it to my grandson when he gets his learner's permit; let his first car be a classic BMW.
That way, I can buy another one.
(Uh, don't tell my wife that.)

I can see it now. I like it though.... minus the rims of course. I would of taken the gamble once the engine was messed with. To ride that low the car has to be pampered so i would hope he did the same wid the engine.

Whilst I quite like the colour of the paint, the wheels are too big and just not my taste!
I find that there is just too much leather on the inside. For my taste I would have left some of the black - not covered the dash etc.
Millage is fine as long as the car has been well maintanied. Of course a lower millage is better...

well i saw it in person
The engine made a clicking and odd sound. Thats what turn me off from it. If i bought it i was gonna get 17's with it but my dad said too wait

Wise man your dad!!
DominguesE30
05-04-2007, 03:36 AM
yeah big time.
And my dad asked him for a test drive. Instead of my dad driving he drove my dad around in it.
And when he started the engine it reved up and down slightly by about 200rpm a few times before it settled.
Im not giving the guy bad publicity or trying to minimus the risk of him selling it, but im just stating the truth.

That says it all!! If someone does not let you test drive a car then you donn't just just walk away from the deal - YOU RUN.
