rear diff question

what rear is in a Stock 325is? M3? 328? does anyone know...might be buying a 325is diff for my 328is and i wanted to know the gears that were in it....thanks everyone

I've been told while researching that the e36 would be spot on if it came with a 3:46 rear. Since it did not, if you want the CLOSEST thing without going way over, you have to settle for the 3:38. Not sure what model they came in but I can tell you 99% of models with ASC+T do not have LSD at least not here in the states. You can check out Diffsonline (http://www.diffsonline.com/) , Metrix Motorsport (http://www.metrixmotorsport.com/index.html) or even Turner (http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/index.asp). They all sell differentials and can probably give you some good info on what model etc donor car your looking for.

no. if i remember right. i think 325is or 328is maybe are. M3's yes. but standard 325i, 328i no

well i have the 328is with the sports package and mine doesn't have it so...

there will be a tag on your diff. Look at what it says and that will tell you what u have. should be on the passenger side somewhere.

If your car is US spec and has ASC+T, it more than likely does NOT have LSD. My 1994 325i does not have it and my friends 1995 325is does not have it. Both of our cars have ASC+T.

328is != 328i with sport package right? Because I have the latter and don't seem to have ASC+T, so might that mean LSD...?
