I just got confirmation from BMW in Whitby that the 335xi Coupe is comming this Fall as an '08. No price confirmation as yet but he wanted me to place an order.
I'm very concerned about fuel pump failures that's in many forums and I made it known to the sales manager. I'm also weary of run-flat tires and future costs.

hmm welll plaifatt although there are common weak ponts with most vehichles bmw's are quite a robust when it comes to reliability. Consider yourself lucky that the new 3's have this issue, a fuel pump failure while obviously a pain in the ass is not that big of a deal when compared to rad issues with the X5 in which case if its not addressed right away you end up with a cracked head and alot of lost sleep. Either way im sure you'll be very pleased with your bimmer. What dealer you using??

I spoke with the dealer in Whitby, Durham BMW (beside BMW Canada).
I had a 3 series in the past but I'm now a Lexus owner for the past 9 years. I sold my '92 Porsche 911 RS America last year...after 13+ yrs... and now hoping this BMW will fill my need for a sporty car.

Any Toronto E60 owners here? I am from North Toronto with my '04 545i. Anyone bring their E60 to independent mechanic for maintenance service like brakes or oil changes? LakesideMotor or Auto Trend? Can independent mechanic service E60?

The E60 can be serviced by an indy. Unfortunately most of the parts must be sourced from the dealer. Overall you will pay less for work by a good indy.

I find that the E60 is a very solid car, even with the few electrical issues that it had. When working for BMW I found the E60 very reliable.

MANDD, that's good to hear. I leased mine for 3 yrs and the CPO warranty will run out 6 mths before lease end. And even the CPO warranty is not the same as the original warranty so there is some discomfort. Especially for someone that came from an Infiniti

Yeah Matt the CPO Warranty is not has detailed as the original, but it is better that most of the other manufacturers extended warranty such has Volvo Mazda Ford.

Hi everyone, just had my '99 323i serviced at BMW Mississauga for inspection I, turned out I also needed my front brakes replaced and a new caliper, as well as some other wear and tear items, in the end got dinged with a $1800 bill...ouch!!! Just started reading the Canadian forum, wish I had known about Autobahn, Autotrend, or Lakeshore before going to the dealer. Any other credible mechanics in the GTA, or just the three? Thanks to everyone for posting, can't believe there aren't more members here considering the number of bmws I see every day.

hi all,

live in Bobcaygeon and drive a 2000 328I. got it about 3 weeks ago have a few problems with it, and have spent the last 3 days on here looking for threads on how to! I am new to the whole DIY as the dealrship is expensive so i think ill be getting my hands dirty for the next little while. the car has 150k on it now, it is a good shape but the only thing is that it was in an accident. everything on it was fixed by the dealer... so i belive since it was reported. the problems that i have are : 1. when cold the cars idle goes up and down untill she dies, in beetween 900 to 200 rpm, once the car is warm it dosent do it. 2. at certain rpm in between 1500 and 2500 it makes a whistle noise from the engine bay, and i have only noticed it when the car is cold. 3. the front left turn signal keeps going in and out, once i give it a littel bump it goes back in and sometimes it goes back in once i switch the turn signal on. and 4. rear right tire is closer to the body vs left i can put my finger in between the left tire/body fine but not on the right side. my mechanic said that i should start by replacing the shock. and the last thing that sucks is that the closest bmw dealer is a 45 min drive. other then that she is good, has all the goodies on it and i love it! proud to be a bmw owner!

nice to meet you all!

Hi all, I just picked up a 2005 X5 from bay in Arizona. I Luv the my baby. It rides and handles great! I have 49,600 miles on it (79,400km). I brought it in for a #1 inspection before the warranty is up. They told me that the #1 inspection is only a visual inspection at 86 pts on the car. I had the daytime running lights installed and oil and filter changed. Cost of the visit: $401 at Ste-Julie BMW.
Also, I asked if I can purchase an extended garantee from BMW before the 50,000 mile and they said no. All they can offer is a private warranty. Geez, I wonder if that is good??

Also I read on the forums that people can buy from BMW an extended warranty from BMW before the 50,000 mile mark. How come I can't do the same??

Onto the E60 - the lease is up in July and I'm unsure what to get next. Another E60? The new Jag XF? I'm actually thinking of taking a step back, model year-wise. I've always preferred the styling of the E39 - given the way prices are starting to come down up here, I may just buy an '02 or '03 540i or M5. I might even import again (I brought the SL in from Buffalo). I'll wait for the new car prices to drop more. Thoughts?
