I am a pretty non-mechanical drive with a 2002 X5 with only 33,000 mi. Unfortunately, my factory warranty has expired and I have no maintenance program. As late, I find when i go into a turn at more than 30 miles and hour, there is a loud low pitched squealing sound coming from under the hood. Could it mean it is low on fluid? Or could bigger problems be looming. Also, I cannot remember my last oil change, but have not had an oil warning light come on and my maintenance lights only register 2 led's at startup. Any suggestions?

Thank

Find a good indy mechanic. Let him check you power-steering level and possibly do an oil change. If you cannot remember then it's time it was changed. Filters are available on Ebay. I bought 4 for around $25 delivered. I just had my oil changed to Amsoil Synth. but Redline Synth or Royal Purple or any full synth. oil should do. The Amsoil site offers a complete breakdown on all the fluids for your X.
