something is wrong with my air bag spring on my 97 328is. it makes so much noise whenever i turn the wheel. does anyone know what to do about this and how to do it. please help!!! this is very annoying!!!

It's called a clock spring and unfortunatly you will need to replace it. The steering wheel needs to be removed and all of the switches, then you can remove the spring and replace. FYI, be VERY careful with your steering wheel. if you do not properly discharge the airbag system, it WILL deploy! Don't quote me but i think you have to disconnect the battery for 1/2 hour. I'd do 1 hour to be safe.

Item #2 in the link.. Looks like you just have to remove the steering wheel. Can't be that bad!
