Hey guys,

I have installed an Aftermarket alarm system (Autopage) in my car a couple of years back... The system works perfect, it also has 2 auxilary outputs. It says in the manual that the timed auxilary outputs can be used to roll down the windows and such.

My question is : How would I wire my windows to my auxiliary output so that I could roll them down... ?? ( I'm too lazy to go down to my car at work... I can see it out the window in my office, hence the remote windows... )

Has anybody done this before ?

Thanks

Al

The challenge you face, is that when you lock the car, your car's central body electronics go to sleep and stop responding to the window controls. The usual solution is to add a generic, electronic module between the body electronics and windows, give the module constant power and have it drive the windows on command from the remote control / alarm. This works but may degrade or neuter the windows' pinch protection.

I left the stock window electronics, wiring and pinch protection on my car intact. Instead, I designed and added a controller that wakes up the central body electronics and tricks it to do my bidding. I may be the only one to do things this way.
