my clock spring is busted and makes alot of noise but i dont have any money to replace it. my understanding is that the air bag wont work now that its broke so would i be able to remove the clocok spring for the time being and contine to drive, with no airbag.

The clock spring is what makes continuous contact for the airbag. They used to use a horn ring, but the intermittent contact of a ring like that would make the airbag deploy.

OP, I assume you could remove the spring, but it is also a dual purpose for the horn, turn signal cam, etc. If your gonna go through the hassle of removing it, just replace it.

never new that one. Guess i can say i learned something new. The only time i mess with that area is when i remove it all and we are building a car and just replace with a quick disconect sterring wheel.
