I currently use Towson BMW for my service (01 M5), but would like to find a good independent shop in the area. Anyone have any recommendations?

Mike,
Is there something wrong with the service you received at Towson? I am thinking of taking my 335 there for service and alarm install. Do you recommend a specific SA?
I use Terrance for my service advisor and he is great. Dealers do get expensive, and Towson is probably the best in the area.

I own a 325 and found this guy on craigslist. He sent me to his website and it links you to an email address. I thought he was fake but decided to give him a try, WOW! He was kind, knew his stuff and really worked with me. It's 1000 times better than the dealer because I actually get to talk to the mechanic. And Best of all he's a Master Tech for a dealer. He does all his work on the side. He cost me about half of what the dealer charges and it was done right the first time. I'll be going to him all the time.
His website is baltimore-bimmer.com His email is there. Pay no attention to his fee schedule. he doesn't go by that.
I paid throug paypal but he also takes cash.

Sounds interesting. What did he do for you and how much did it cost?

I used the baltimore-bimmer.com guy as well and I was thoroughly impressed. He definately knows his stuff. Came right to the house and had a fuel leak repaired in about 20 minutes. He likes to share his knowledge of vehicles. I have used him now for all my mechanical repairs and won't go anywhere else. Very reasonable for the services provided.

I own a 745i and I had a coolant leak out of the front cover. I went to Owings mills BMW and they quoted me 7000 bucks! they said they had to pull my engine. I contacted the Baltimore-bimmer answer man and he said you don't have to pull the motor and the repair should be less than 3000. I took it to his shop in Downtown Baltimore and got it done and it runs better then it did when he got it. He said that some settings were wrong in my engine computer and he was able to change some things that would save me gas mileage and boy was he right. He's the man! No more leaks and my car was cleaned and vacuumed. What a professional place to do business!
