Somebody told me about needing some darker floormats in my creme interior. Why? I'm speculating they show up every type of dirt there is. If so, where can I buy the darker colored mats? BTW, I almost have as many miles on the 6 in 1 week than I did in 4 months with the M coupe! I love this car.

I am in the same position but decided to stay with the light mats because I prefer the way they look. I just went heavy on a fabric guard to make them easier to clean and will try not to worry too much about it.

I bought the BMW black rubber mats for the winter, I love the creme on black so much that I'm thinking about buying BMW black mats and piping them in creme leather :D

If so, where can I buy the darker colored mats? Hint: They're original BMW (spare) parts.

I have the Cream Beige interior in my 6 and the BEST thing I ever did was get the Black Floor Mats from BMW- I got the "carpeted" kind with the BMW Logo and the heel pad- not only will it look better they look much cleaner all the time. :D

Trying to keep that Beige Floor Mat CLEAN was a NIGHTMARE!!

Don't think too much about this, you are killing too many brain cells- as they say-"Just Do It!"

ps...I cannot imagine putting "rubber" mats in my 6er :yikes: - OK maybe if I lived in Seattle or the North Pole or maybe the UK in the winter? :dunno:

UK in the winter? :dunno:

The mud and snow slush etc in the winter can get really bad... once you have black you never go back :D

Run a quick search on mats here under the 6er sub forum. Take a look.

When I had the 650i with the cream biege leather I put in black floor mats. They did look a little out of place, since everything else on the interior near the floor was light colored. So having some custom made with cream beige matching piping is a good solution. The cream beige does get dirty pretty quickly.

I bought the 650i mats from the dealer, :bs: BMW, at reail price. :sabrina: But I recently bought nice M6 mats (for some reason PhilippeK didn't throw them in :dunno: ) from Jeff Thomason of Anderson BMW in Chicago (a sponsor on this Board) for a good price, well below dealer retail. :wow: (They are black. Which is a matching color for me.)

So, I would contact Jeff, or any other sponsor on this Board, for a "deal." You have got to start saving up now, and counting the running inches of floss, if we are to graduate you to an M6!

Would you have his screen name?

Here is the sponsor link. http://directory.bimmerfest.com/siteSponsor.php?action=viewsitesponsor&SpCId=112

I think his email is jthomason @ andersoncars.com

Maybe he will appear and give us his screen name.

I just ordered a glove-box light-socket converter, and license plate holders from Anderson BMW.

Jeff, no longer there, has been replaced by Kurt Geier, 815-455-4330, 888-221-5330 x134, kgeier@andersoncars.com. He extends the same great prices to bimmerfest members, but I don't believe that he's on any of the boards.

Thanks, Spydie!

I don't think an M6 is in my future. If the ride is anything like the M coupe, I'd rather take the luxury ride than the race ride. That's my personal preference. Plus, I'm guessing the MPG is much different in actuality, not CAFE. I know it's stupid talking about 3-5mpg difference when you have a $100k car, but that's just something that sits in the back of my head eating away at it.:dunno: Now, I wouldn't mind putting on a set of M6 wheels and tires to my car?

I have the light interior too and I did get the black mats when I first got the car keeping the light ones for ??? spares..

I have since purchased the black rubber ones and just keep the black carpet ones under them. I have a couple boys that play Lacrosse and in and out with dirt and grass (or artificial turf these days.. ) started to become a problem... Also, the sand from the beach .. I didn't think much of them at first when a friend told me about them but I won't ever take them out now..

They look great... very very easy to clean.. I think they give the car a much bolder look when you open the door.. If I ever want to go back to the classy look I have a choice of the black BMW carpet mats (look great with the light color interior...) or I find the light mats and have that crisp new look...

If you haven't considered them take a look sure makes life easier out here in So. CAL

With a black interior ( my first) I have black carpet mats. They are harder to keep looking good than any gray or creme beige colored mats I've had before.

Sold my '06 Monaco / beige coupe with unused black mats in the trunk. The beige mats might have taken on a slightly darker cast because of dust, but they required much less cleaning than these black ones require thus far.
