I have a couple of questions for those who have completed a European Delivery. My dealer has informed me that the insurance provided has a clause that provides for a 10% deductible for the theft of the car. I have asked if there was a supplemental insurance that could be purchased that eliminates this deductible and was told there was none.
1. Did any of you consider this an issue?
2. Does anyone know of any supplemental insurance program?
Thanks for your assistance.

It's only a problem if you don't get another BMW with the proceeds. You have 100% coverage for all intents and purposes.

Thanks
Coverage is great - I wouldn't worry about it. However, you should be aware that if you cannot produce all three keys (assuming your Bimmer now has been stolen), there is NO COVERAGE. Guard those keys with your life while traveling.

IMO non-issue.

Same goes for the green registration forms, which should never be left inside the car. They are similar to a car title, in terms of making it very easy for the thieves to sell your car.
By the way, I only got 2 keys, not 3 (and the form I signed was corrected). Maybe the 3er only comes with 2 keys? :dunno:

So what's with the "not having 3 keys" if the car is stolen and thereby not having coverage ??!! I've never heard of such stupid coverage -- what happens if you get hijacked and the guy tells you, at gun-point, to take a hike ????

Don't know, but that is a very unlikely scenario in Germany and Western Europe in general. If this point is important to you, check it out with Allianz and/or your dealer before you go. Let us know what you learn.

However, if the car is stolen when you are NOT in it, you are expected to have ALL keys and all registration papers - or you are not covered.
If you are unhappy with this, then perhaps European Delivery is not for you.
